Janine Randerson



Janine Randerson is a media artist and writer based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, New Zealand. Her art practice includes site-specific installations, 16mm films, sound works, experimental video and atmospheric media. A recurring theme in Randerson’s work is the technological mediation in ecological systems with a particular focus on meteorology. She has curated exhibitions on topics of mineral extraction, air and water rights in the context of the climate crisis both locally and with the International World Weather Network platform, and often works with environmental scientists, collaborating with glaciologists, botanists, and urban meteorologists and in projects with NIWA in Aotearoa; satellite meteorologists at the Bureau of Meteorology (Australia) and climatologists the National Institute of Environmental Research (Denmark).
